Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation (OPCC&CT)

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation (OPCC&CT), was established in January 2011 with the primary goal of transforming the VA health care system from the traditional model of health care to a personalized, proactive, patient-driven model that focuses on developing and advancing  Whole Health for Veterans and employees.

This transformation, emphasized by VHA’s Modernization Campaign Plan, helps achieve the overall national VHA Strategic Plan by focusing on high priority “lanes of effort.”

Whole Health is one of the lanes of effort and is also Strategy 2.1.4: Emphasizing Veterans’ and their families’ Whole Health and Wellness of the 2018-2024 VA-level Strategic Plan.

OPCC&CT works with VHA leadership, national program offices, VHA facilities and frontline VA staff in this transformation which focuses on self-empowerment, self-healing, and self-care in addition to the state-of-the-art treatment provided by VA.

Through a system of Flagship Sites, Wave Two Sites and other collaborations, the OPCC&CT is implementing innovative practices to deliver VA’s brand of patient centered care.... Whole Health.
